​Sandra D. (Kuhn) Gahimer was murdered in her home at 1107 Elm Street on January 12, 1997.  She died from "Incised wounds to the neck."  
The Shelbyville Police Department received a 911 call from a pay phone around 11:55 p.m. on the night of January 12, 1997.  The call was from Jennifer Gahimer (daughter).  The call was in reference to a well-being check.  When officers arrived the front door was open and when the residence was searched, the victim was found deceased.

James J. Ryon was found murdered in his apartment at 515 Eastern Avenue on January 31, 1980.  He died from a gunshot wound to the head.
